If you needed help filing for your stimulus payment, you missed a great opportunity Thursday.

The Veterans Service office in Staunton opened its doors to anyone needing information or help receiving their stimulus payments. An I.R.S. representative was available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the office.

While Veterans Services says the turnout was much less than they expected, one of their own employees was surprised to find out she's getting more money in her pockets.

Churchville resident Paula Warren says, "We are due an additional $300. If we hadn't had the I.R.S. representative in our office, it would have been $300 we missed."

The deadline to file for your stimulus check is October 15.
