One Valley farm is in need of some extra help this season.
Harrisonburg's Blessed Sacrament, is just one of the organizations that benefits from the volunteer farm in Woodstock.
The soup kitchen receives fresh food from the farm and it also gets food from the Blue Ridge Food Bank which is the primary recipient of the farm.
Like the name implies, the farm depends on the help of many volunteers., and right now there's a real need to lend a hand.
"The need for harvesting right now is very critical because there are crops in the field that need to get out and get to hungry people. And right now our volunteerism is down for the year," says Pete Desmit who is the Soup Kitchen Coordinator.
