Deputies in Shenandoah County are reporting a stolen pygmy goat. The goat is two months old and about the size of a small dog. Deputies say it was stolen from a home on South Ox Road in Edinburg last week. The missing goat is gray with a white spot on its forehead.
Deputies in Rockingham County are investigating a theft at the construction site of SRI International. They say $1,300 of welding cables were stolen Monday night.
A business in Harrisonburg was the target of a break-in over the weekend. Police say someone stole some items from J & A Auto on North Liberty Street.
Staunton Police say a thief came away empty-handed after breaking into a soda machine at Stanley Meat Market last week. The thief allegedly broke the coin box, only to find that it had been emptied earlier that day.
State Police are trying to find out who went for a "joy ride" in a Chevrolet truck that was stolen from H & W Litter Services in Hinton. The truck went missing Saturday night, then was found wrecked and abandoned in a field three miles away the next morning.
An arrest has been made in a case that was featured last week in Crime Where You Live. Michael Joseph Thomas from Mount Jackson is accused of damaging 28 mailboxes in late December. Deputies are still investigating because they believe Thomas did not act alone.
