The Rockingham Memorial Hospital Flu Clinic is picking up speed after its first weekend providing extra care to those suffering from flu symptoms.
While the clinic didn't see any patients its first night open Friday, workers say the word spread quickly, as 12 people came in Saturday and 22 Sunday.
The clinic says the majority of cases that come in now are the H1N1 virus.
"Yes, I would say it is. And we look forward to helping to relieve some of this workload off of the emergency department and more as time goes on. I think we're going to see more and more cases of the flu as the season progresses," says Terri Huffman, RMH Director of Primary Care Services.
Clinic hours are from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Mondays, and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
RMH says the clinic will remain open as long as the flu season remains active.
