A major roadway in Staunton is getting some important improvements, but it will be partially closed for a year while the work is completed.
Churchville Avenue will be widened starting at North Augusta Street, the intersection where the library is located. The work will continue along Churchville Avenue to Albemarle Avenue.
The project will add turn lanes and bike lanes to Churchville Avenue. The eastbound lane will be closed for the duration of the work.
The $2.7-million dollar project is expected to start in late October or early November.
