On Friday, the Friendly City Food Co-op handed out invitations to its first ever site announcement party.
Co-op members played games and gave goodie bags to the kids out in front of the downtown Children's Museum.
After having finally chosen a site for its locally-owned grocery store, the co-op is planning a tailgate style, pot luck celebration to commemorate the site's announcement.
The organization will also be handing out prize money up to $200 at the event.
The party will be held at the old Harrisonburg Fitness location downtown, between Klines and the U.S. Post office, November 14 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
