Blue Ribbon Ceremony

A group in the Valley has been raising money to help prepare young children for school.

Success by 6 is an organization doing what they can to make sure children are ready to start school.

For the past three week, businesses have been donating money to the "Wrapping the Town" fundraising campaign.

Each organization that donated received a ribbon. Snow cones and other activities attracted children and families to learn about success by six Saturday.

Denise Shifflett says Saturday was a great day to bring in more people from the community to better understand the program. "It's an opportunity for families and children to come though and look at all the information that we have on parenting and what services we provide in the community to insure that children do enter school successful and ready to succeed," says Success by Six Coalition Member Denise Shifflett.

Organizers of the coalition say they have learned that by investing in children at their youngest age, the investment will pay off once they enter school.
