The grandaddy of all food drives fell a little short this year.
102,000 pounds of food were collected in the area on Saturday during the annual "Stamp out Hunger" Drive.
31,000 pounds will go to Verona and 20,000 is headed for the Winchester branch of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Organizers say last year's campaign in this area brought in 120,000 pounds. Plans are already in the works for more food drives this summer to make up for the loss.
Nearly 80,000 meals will be provided in and around the Valley with this year's collection.
