The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire WHSV Viewing Area.

Highland, Augusta, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Page, Pendleton, Hardy, Grant and Warren counties are under the warning until 10 p.m. Saturday.

NWS says heavy snowfall is expected with accumulations between 20 and 30 inches possible.

Frederick, Clarke, Hampshire and Mineral counties are also under a warning until 10 p.m. Saturday.

Heavy snowfall is expected with accumulations between 20 and 28 inches possible.

NWS says conditions will deteriorate rapidly early Friday afternoon with the heaviest snow falling between Friday afternoon and sunrise Saturday.

Heavy snowfall is expected to create near-blizzard conditions with visibility below one-quarter mile.

Strong winds are also possible with this storm with gusts up to 30 miles per hour Friday night and Saturday.

This storm has the potential to be very similar to the one that hit the area in December and officials say residents should plan for substantial disruptions in travel.

Like everything else rain is rain and snow is snow! It is just far deeper this time! People we are in winter, what do you expect! Enjoy the mini staycation if you can, get housework caught up, work on a project you never get to, watch movies, enjoy time with your children inside and outside, spend time with your significant other, be safe if you have to work, and remember those outside pets. I am ready for Spring too, but if we have to have it, might as well make the best of it!

So, the logic goes, that if snow falls in winter, global warming must be false? Is that right? A couple of snow storms debunks the whole "global warming" myth, is that it? Ignorance gave us a flat earth. Education gave us a round planet, in a solar system, & science got us to the moon and back. Never use God to show your ignorance. It weakens your position. What is real is the severity of storms and the warming of the planet. The earth has a temperature. It is sick. Now, you can debate the merits of the human footprint impact on the environment, but don't kid yourself about the reality of the world you live in.The past twenty years shows a sharp decline in snow fall amounts around the world.Drought, famine, floods and fires are more pronounced than ever before in my lifetime. That's just the facts. btw, please don't use political affiliations or God to spew ignorance.

Here's my guess. The people denying science here aren't capable of reading a peer-reviewed scientific article. Their education has let them down, which is probably why they'd complain about public schooling as well...
