A crowd of people gathered at Rocking R Hardware in Harrisonburg Thursday evening while waiting to get their hands on a shipment of snow shovels.

Word got out that the store would be getting a delivery of heaters, sleds and shovels Thursday evening. By the time the truck pulled up, customers had filled the store and they were still showing up later in the evening.

The delivery truck driver, Allen Bernthal, says he worried about the crowd and even took an extended route so customers wouldn't see him pull up.

"I was being tracked on my travels kind of like Santa Clause on Christmas Eve that NORAD does. I had to give mile markers of where I was on I-64 and where I was on I-81so they were waiting on me to get here," says Bernthal.

The store says, of the 400 shovels delivered, there are still about 40 left.
