WEYERS CAVE -- Crews at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport prepare for big snow storms all season.
Staff members at the airport urged anyone expecting to catch a flight Tuesday night or Wednesday to contact United Airlines to make sure it hasn't been cancelled. They also suggested rearranging any plans because there is a large potential for delays.
United Airlines has implemented a travel waiver option to avoid any of the normal fees that come with rebooking.
“SHD will be prepared and we can typically handle an event of this size without any issues. It's the airports that we feed into, like Dulles, that might become a little bit congested. We might see some issues with delayed flights or cancellations,” said Greg Campbell, the executive director of SHD.
