WAYNESBORO, Va -- This weekend, thousands of people will visit the Valley for the 41st annual Virginia Fall Foliage Festival.

On Friday, organizers were busy making sure everything was ready to go for what looks to be a busy weekend. For the next two days, nearly 20,000 people will be right in in downtown Waynesboro looking at art from over 150 talented artists.

The Fall Foliage Art Show is considered one of the largest events in the Valley.

“It brings in a high amount of culture for the weekend,” said Piper Groves, the executive director of Shenandoah Valley Arts Center. “You can't see this many different kinds of art at this scale anywhere in the Valley. You have to go to DC or Norfolk to see this kind of caliber.”

It takes a whole year to get in touch with the right artists that will make the show a success. It also takes intense cooperation with the tourism department to pull people to the event from all over the state.

On Friday, the artists were busy setting up their displays along Main St. The Fall Foliage Art Show runs through Sunday and is free to attend.
