Family and friends in Augusta County are remembering Ethan Blevins, who lost his battle to cancer at nine years old.
Blevins was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in December of 2010.
Members of the community said Blevins' parents were in a tough financial situation, and have been really needing help with medical costs.
A fundraiser is being held at Chick-fil-A in Waynesboro on Aug. 30 with a goal to raise $2,000 to pay for the family's expenses.
Chick-fil-A Marketing Director Bethany Shelton said Blevins loved eating at her restaurant and had some dietary needs when he was sick that were specially prepared.
For anything you buy all day, 20 percent of profits will go to the Blevins.
Any catering orders placed through Sept. 1 are also included in the fundraiser.
Shelton said everyone at the restaurant was sad to hear about Blevins, as they were rooting for him.
"It's been a gift to be able to do that for somebody that we know personally as a store, and we've served on a regular basis," said Shelton.
Legos for Leukemia will also be at Chick-fil-A selling calendars, gallons of sweet tea and six-count cookies to raise more money for the family.
When you make your purchase, make sure to mention Ethan's name at the register for your donation to count.
