Tthe designer drug bath salts is losing popularity in the Valley.
Members of the RUSH Drug Task Force said they have seen the drug's popularity decrease by half. Those members said the reason for this is a combination of enforcement on distributors on the local and federal level.
Of course, the drug isn't completely eliminated from the Valley because there is still information coming in every day.
“Distributors had the ease of shipping it across the United States on the Internet or whatever and after the crackdown on that, once they realized how dangerous a substance this stuff was, with the enforcement levels and the federal crackdown, that's pretty much what's caused the shift in it right now," said Mark Campbell with RUSH Drug Task Force.
Campbell said that shift has not changed the way the drug task force works toward getting bath salts out of the area.
