HARRISONBURG --Big Brothers and Big Sisters is hoping to strike out, for a good reason. It's part of the group's annual Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser.
The way it works is bowlers play for a set amount of time and all the money goes to the organization.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a mentoring program. Resource Development Director Lindsey Douglas says, it's wonderful to see such a great turn out.
"We are excited for what's happening. We know that the economy hasn't totally turned around and we still see hundreds of individuals willing to give their time and support for local charities,"said Douglas.
The group raised more than $70,000.All the money goes right back into the program.
