WEYERS CAVE -- Blue Ridge Community College hosted a "Big Small Business Event" on Thursday.
Small business owners attended several workshops to learn skills to help their businesses.
The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center was in charge of the event. This is the second year that it had a small business information event.
More than 16 workshops and sessions were held throughout the day. Many of the workshops dealt with how to handle technology in the workplace.
Larry Elkins, who owns DWN Insurance Services, attended the event and was thankful for the technology help.
“All of the technology, all the interaction, network systems, things like that are very important for us. As well as ethics. Not only how to do it but how to do it right and make sure we are protected when things go wrong,” said Elkins.
The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center holds workshops throughout the year. In June, it will have five more workshops for free. For a full schedule, visit its website here: www.valleysbdc.org/
