HARRISONBURG, Va -- A James Madison University student plans to ride across the country on his bicycle to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. He will start in Harrisonburg and bike all the way to San Diego, visiting cancer centers along the way.
Navid Attayan put up a display at JMU to get the word out and start collecting donations. He said he did a lot of research on neuroblastomy in an internship and he also met with families with children who are suffering from it.
"Lack of funding always killed it and we had patients where we couldn't do our best, and I hate to say that we couldn't do our best, simply because of lack of funding, and that should never be a reason to turn down a child that has cancer," said Attayan.
He said he needs more people to support the project's Facebook page to get more sponsors. ProJeKT 3000 Facebook Page
