UPDATE: Woman Dies After Two People Flown to UVa after Car Crash

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va.--- Sunday September 15, 2013
5:09 P.M.

State Police tell us the woman driving the car, who stopped after a mattress fell off her trailer has died.

Polly Nunn died at UVA Medical Center last night. Henry Laney was also flown to UVA Medical Center for his injuries.

At this time, charges have not been filed against Joseph Howard King, who was driving the car that hit the trailer.


Two people were flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center after a car crash near Cecil Wampler and South Valley Pike in Rockingham County.

One person is in critical condition and the other suffered serious injuries.

Virginia State Police said a woman driving an SUV improperly stopped on the side of the road, after a mattress fell off the trailer. A bicyclist stopped to help her pull up the mattress.

VSP said the driver of a car traveling Southbound did not see the SUV due to sun glare and ended up hitting the back of the trailer.

The car's driver did not sustain any injuries. No charges have been filed at this time.
