Rockingham County deputies say a hunter accidentally shot a house near the woods. It happened just south of Elkton at a house along Route 33. Deputies say the hunter was using a shotgun, and one shot got away and hit the house, damaging some siding and a window.

Someone in New Market has been stealing mail. Deputies say mail was taken from five different homes last week. The streets are Ridge Road, Limestone Road and South Middle Road. A lot of the mail was opened then left near the box.

Augusta County deputies report that someone took a trailer and 128 gallons of diesel fuel from a Pilot station just south of Staunton. It was reported missing on Monday.

Staunton Police say someone stole $800 of tools from a truck on North Augusta Street. Police say the thief got in the truck through the rear window.
