With Christmas approaching, stores are full of shoppers -- and shoplifters.
Staunton police say Holly Randels tried to steal $893 worth of merchandise from Walmart. She was arrested on Sunday. Jessica Chrisman is accused of trying to steal from the Rite Aid on West Beverley Street on Sunday. Police say Chrisman was trying to take fleece pants, body spray, and christmas lights.
Someone in Shenandoah County will have a harder time keeping warm this winter because of a thief. Deputies say someone stole a pile of firewood from a home on Wakemans Grove Road in Edinburg last week.
Augusta County deputies say someone stole about a thousand dollars in cash from a home on Cow Pasture Lane, and also took a food stamp card. The theft happened over the weekend.
Someone in Harrisonburg was going off-roading with a vengeance. Police say someone drove all over a yard on Garbers Church Road Monday night, ripping it apart and leaving deep ruts.
