HARRISONBURG -- A hair salon in Harrisonburg will donate a portion of the money it made Saturday to a local cancer center.

There was a lot of pink - and there were a lot of people - inside Foilz Hair Studio on University Boulevard in Harrisonburg on Saturday afternoon. The salon was raising money for the Hahn Cancer Center at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Leah Shifflett, who owns the salon, said she does it as a tribute to her late mother.

"When we opened, she was going through chemotherapy and radiation," she said. "She's no longer with us. We spent a lot of time at the Hahn Cancer Center, we spent a lot of time with the nurses, and this is just our way of saying thank you. They're fabulous."

The Healing Touch Wellness Spa gave massages and did pink eyelash extensions to help raise money for the cause.
