STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- A 10-time Ironman from New York is riding his bike through the Valley Tuesday to raise money for children with long-term illnesses and special needs.
Dave Nazaroff started his trip in Frederick, Maryland Tuesday morning. He's expected to end up in Staunton by Tuesday evening to rest before continuing south to Georgia. He did a similar ride last year to raise money for a sick little boy.
This year he's helping raise money for a 10-year-old girl with multiple medical conditions. We talked with him by phone as he moved into the Valley Tuesday.
"I have it good. I have two healthy, beautiful children. What motivates me to help out these other families? I'm riding my bike, and it's hard. It doesn't compare anywhere to what these families are going through," explained Nazaroff.
You can greet Dave in person as he rides into Staunton. He'll be staying at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel.
