HARRISONBURG -- Many people in the Valley are honored Good Friday.

More than 50 neighbors walked to different churches and public buildings in downtown Harrisonburg for the holiday. They traveled from Blessed Sacrament Church and ended at Saint Stephen's United Church of Christ.

At each stop they read scripture and prayers. A different person would carry a wooden cross to each location. People who attended said they liked that people from different congregations came together for one purpose.

"Just being a part of a community, that even though we are from different faiths and worship differently, maybe, we're all together; we're all following Christ," Sue Johnson, a woman who attended the walk, said.

This wasn't the first time this prayer walk has been held. People have been attending this event for the last 26 years.
