AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- With some snow expected Monday morning during commutes to work, we checked in with travelers in Virginia.

With clear roads, driving on Interstate 81 near Harrisonburg was a breeze for many travelers.

But on Monday morning, roads could be wet or icy.

Travelers heading back to the Commonwealth from Pennsylvania say no snow right now is a welcome change from their drive earlier in the day.

"We're coming out of treacherous weather and coming into this. Watch your speed limit and watch the other guy. A lot of people in the south aren't used to the snow and ice that we get in the storms like this," said Barbara Strimple, a traveler.

"It'll be a little unexpected," said Joe Ziegler, a traveler.

If you're out on the roads in bad weather, VDOT recommends leaving for work a few minutes early and watching for ice on bridges.
