ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. -- According to Virginia State Police, a fatal crash occurred on Friday at 1 p.m. between a concrete pumper truck and a Subaru on Route 259 near Mauzy Ln.

Jay Kenneth Leatherman, 64, Broadway, was driving his Subaru west on Route 259 when he crossed a center line and struck a concrete pumper truck, driven by Daniel Paul Smith, 39, Waynesboro.

Leatherman died due to injuries he suffered at the crash. Smith was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital and his condition is unknown.
