MT CRAWFORD -- According to search warrants, federal agents raided Beam Brothers Trucking for falsifying logbooks of workers' hours. The affidavit shows workers reporting their supervisors made them lie about the hours they worked.
Federal regulations require truck drivers to drive no more than 10 hours per day. Workers said they not only drove more than that, but they were told to lie about it in order to get paid.
Federal agents raided the trucking company on Tuesday from this evidence.
They said more than seven witnesses complained about having to falsify their logbooks. One worker reported having to drive from Knoxville, Tenn. to Dallas, Texas for Beam Brothers and since that worker couldn't make the trip in less than 11 hours, he said management made him lie about his hours worked.
Some of the workers said they were told to destroy their logbooks at the end of their routes and fill out new ones.
This investigation has been going on since 2006.
