HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Delano Fitz was directly indicted on multiple charges that include first-degree murder on Monday afternoon.
He appeared in court by video conference from jail and didn't testify before a grand jury because he was directly indicted.
Fitz didn't say too much, except for asking questions about his indictments.
The charges against Fitz include first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
He is accused of shooting Traman Turner, the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend.
Fitz actually could have two trials, according to the judge.
One of the trials would involve the murder charge and the other, the firearm charges.
He is being held without bond and has waived his right to a speedy trial.
Lawyers will be back in court on Wednesday to set a date for trial, which could last four or five days.
Within minutes, the judge and lawyers both moved forward to the next grand jury hearing.
