Gas Prices Lower for Labor Day

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va (WHSV)-- AAA predicts more people will travel during the holiday weekend than any year since the recession. They also expect over 900,000 people to travel in Virginia this weekend.

Some good news for drivers, gas prices will be at their lowest levels since 2010.

One driver I spoke with actually planned their vacations earlier in the year to avoid the travel headaches and is planning on taking it easy this weekend.

"We got to settle down, daughters playing volleyball with the JV team so we got to be in town for that kind of stuff," said David Wright, who is staying at home this Labor Day.

According to gasbuddy.com, a handful of gas stations in the Commonwealth have gas prices as low as $2.93. In some areas of the Valley, the cheapest gas was recorded at as low as $3.06.
