HARRISONBURG, Va. -- At a reception Friday, U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-6th, delivered a donation to Mercy House of more than $130,000.

The money comes from a D.C. based non-profit, The Taste of the South. The organization chose the Harrisonburg-based homeless shelter as its featured charity of the year. At the reception, a woman praised Mercy House for helping her get out of a bad situation and for giving her a new smile.

"We want to spend this money working with the families to have training to do things they need like dentures that will help them get jobs that will make them promotable," said Twila Lee, who is the Executive Director of Mercy House.
