STAUNTON, Va. -- Martin's grocery store has a few ways to protect against the flu and other illnesses from wipes to sanitize your cart to hand sanitizer for cashiers.

“They do have them accessible at the registers. And, as far as with customers, you know, you don't know who's handled that shopping cart right prior to you. Use the hand sanitizer coming in and just use every precaution available,” said Tom Rosenmeier, the pharmacy manager at Martin's.

If you're really worried about this harsh flu season, Rosenmeier said you should try to help your immune system with vitamin c, hydration and plenty of rest.
