HARRISONBURG -- Valentine's Day is the busiest day of the year for the Harrisonburg Harmonizers. All day, they made stops around the Valley to surprise some lucky Valentines with a song.

Mike Calhoun is the president of the group and he has been doing this for 25 years.

"People are sometimes initially surprised, sometimes a little shy, but then they really get into it and they love it. People say, 'Wow this is the best Valentine's gift I've ever had!'" said Calhoun.

Whether it's at someone's office or in the middle of a restaurant, this group will go anywhere to deliver a singing Valentine. Calhoun said he once sang at a bus terminal in New York City.

"For a blind couple, and she wanted to sing with us for one of the singing Valentine's, and I thought they were going to make love right on the floor of Port Authority up in New York."

Calhoun said it's not about making money.

"We sing because we love singing, but bringing joy to other people is sort of an extra benefit."

Making it a special Valentine's Day for many is what it's all about.

If you missed out and would like to send a singing Valentine to your sweetheart, there's still time. The Harrisonburg Harmonizers will continue making stops for the next two days.
