A woman from Hinton, Va. Is dead after a car crash Wednesday night.

Anita Marie Wimer, 49, was driving a 2005 Toyota pickup truck on Route 33 when she went off the road into a ditch and hit a road sign and telephone pole.

She was thrown from the car and was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

State police say speed was a factor, but they do not know if alcohol was involved.

She died at the scene from injuries in the accident.
