AUGUSTA COUNTY -- Darby Powers, an Augusta County man, faces 40 counts of child porn. One of those charges includes making porn with a 13-year-old girl from Rockingham County. Investigators said they also found pornographic videos with girls between the ages of four and 12-years-old.

An investigator with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office arrested Powers after getting a tip from Twitter. He said Powers created an account to solicit people for adult movies.

Detectives believe Powers met the girl at a Fishersville church and an investigator said the local connection makes this case more disturbing.

“These cases are very difficult cases not only for the families of the victims; they're difficult for us to deal with as well. We take them very seriously, and we will investigate them fully,” said Michael Roane, an investigator with the sheriff's office.

Powers is being held without bond in Middle River Regional Jail. If convicted, he could spend up to life in prison.

The teen has been offered counseling.
