Is Bulletproof Clothing for Children a Good Idea?

A Colombian company is now making bulletproof vests, clothes and even back packs for kids.

The clothes aren't being sold in the United States just yet, but the company is starting to market these items to U.S. distributors.

A local parent said this is a bad idea and that it just taps into fears parents already have for their children every day.

"I think it's an unfortunate thing and I think that there are people who would be happy to have that false sense of security, but that's what it is, a false sense of security, and we have enough problems with that in the United States. We don't need to keep fostering that," said Amy Wild, a parent.

Wild said these bullet proof clothes just cover up the deeper issues we need to deal with, like better gun control and mental health.
