Christmas is just 16 days away. If you haven't picked up your Christmas tree, one local farmer says it's a good way to help boost the local economy.
One and a half billion dollars a year is spent on Christmas trees. This includes artificial trees which are mostly made in China.
Jim Culpepper is the manager at Evergreen Tree Farm in Keezletown.
He says an easy way to support the local economy is to buy a real tree this year from a local farm.
"If you come out and buy a local Christmas tree, you are helping the local economy,” said Culpepper. “That means that more of your money stays right here in the community to help the local community instead of going somewhere else throughout the state."
