HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Some Valley neighbors tried their luck with the lottery on Wednesday because of the date 12/12/12. The superstitious either bought tickets or used the number 12. Local gas stations said that number was sold out this morning.
Lisa Campbell works at Valley's Exxon off Route 33 and said the number 12 for the pick two and the combination 12-12 for the pick four were sold out. Even the combination of 21-21 was unavailable.
After that combination, there were no more tickets available with 1 and 2 combinations.
"We just got the read out on that one,” said Campbell, “And that was day time, so night time must be sold out, because I pushed both, for day and night. And I only got night. I'm keeping this ticket."
The likelihood of the winning numbers being some sort of 12 combination is still the same as any other day.
