HARRISONBURG -- Because of high gas and hotel prices, more people are staying home for their vacations. Carole Downey works for Harrisonburg Tourism and said more than 600 people come into the visitor center every week.

"Alot of times people live in the area just aren't even aware that these wonderful things are here. We give them our map, we give them the walking tour guide and they are thrilled they are able to walk in the downtown," said Downey.
