AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va -- Neighbors near Meadow Run Court said vandalism that happened earlier this year made them feel concerned about their safety. That concern motivated them to ask about more streetlights in the area.
A look at that neighborhood reveals two streetlights already up, but they are at each end of the road.
Joan Craig has lived on the road for 40 years and she said it is very dark late at night and early in the morning.
“Right now, we're having to use the battery-operated lights to make sure that we're safe,” said Craig, “It would be better, I think, if we had a brighter light.”
The board of supervisors also will consider adding streetlights to roads near Augusta Farms Road.
On Wednesday, there is a public hearing, starting at 7 p.m., in Verona to talk about adding streetlights.
