HARRISONBURG -- Sen. Mark Obenshain's nomination is becoming the talk on social media among politicians, after he defeated Del. Robert B. Bell. He is now the Republican nominee for attorney general of Virginia.
In a tweet, current Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli of Virginia, called Obenshain a great a addition to the team.
Obenshain and his opponent also released a statement via social media following the announcement.
"Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to Richmond today. whether you voted for me or rob, i appreciate your commitment to our party and to the democratic process, and i look forward to being your nominee for attorney general of Virginia," said Obenshain on his Facebook page.
"I wholeheartedly congratulate mark, and unreservedly endorse him as Virginia's next republican attorney general. i am so grateful to my family, volunteers, campaign team, and supporters for all their extraordinary efforts for my campaign. you all inspire me to be better!" said Delegate Rob bell , who loss to senator Obenshain. The message was published on his Facebook page.
The Democrats will nominate their Attorney General next month when they will choose between either federal prosecutor Justin Fairfax or senator Mark Herring at the democractic primary.
