Police Issue First "Blue Alert" for Virginia

On Wednesday, the Virginia State Police issued a law enforcement officer alert on behalf of the Stafford County Sheriff"s Office at 7 p.m. This "Blue Alert" is Virginia's first such activation to be done for
this kind of alert.

The Stafford County Sheriff"s Office is looking for Laurence Alan Stewart II, 25 in connection with this alert.

The suspect may be armed and dangerous and is a suspect in the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, by use of explosives.

Police describe the suspects' vehicles as a red Hyundai Accent with Virginia registration, WXA-8249, and a white Nissan Altima sedan with Pennsylvania registration, HLM-1923.
