HARRISONBURG -- Police made two arrests in connection with a credit card theft and forgery case.
On Friday, investigators obtained warrants for two men, Michael Andrew Webb, 20, Churchville, and Joshua Russell Rankin, 35, Staunton, in relation to larceny and theft of credit cards and fraudulent use at department stores.
After a search, police arrested Rankin on Tuesday. Rankin faces the following charges:
- Two (2) misdemeanor counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a crime (18.2-147)
- One (1) felony count of principal in the 2nd degree to grand larceny (18.2-18/18.2-95)
- Six (6) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to credit card larceny (18.2-18/18.2-192)
- Two (2) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to credit card fraud (18.2-18/18.2-195)
- Three (3) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to receiving goods fraudulently (18.2-18/18.2-197)
- Three (3) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to credit card forgery (18.2-18/18.2-193)
- Two (2) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to identity theft (18.2-18/18.2-186.3)
- Three (3) felony counts of principal in the 2nd degree to money laundering (18.2-18/18.2-246.3)
- Twenty (20) felony counts of conspiracy to commit a felony (18.2-22)
Officers arrested Webb and he is being held at Middle River Regional Jail. He is charged with the following:
- Two (2) misdemeanor counts of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a crime
- Twenty-one (21) felony counts of conspiracy to commit a felony
- Two (2) felony counts of grand larceny
- Six (6) felony counts of credit card larceny
- Two (2) felony counts of credit card fraud
- Three (3) felony counts of receiving goods fraudulently
- Three (3) felony counts of credit card forgery
- Two (2) felony counts of identity theft
- Thee (3) felony counts of money laundering
