Police Searching for Missing Girl

Jamisha Gilbert, 18, has been missing since last week.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Police are searching for a missing 18-year-old woman.

Jamisha Gilbert is an honors graduate from Heritage High School.

Police believe she disappeared last week under suspicious circumstances.

Early last Friday morning, Lynchburg Police found her Honda Accord off of Concord Turnpike, which is near Winston Ridge Road in Lynchburg.

Gilbert's friends said they last saw her between twelve and one in the morning last Friday.

Her mother said the last time she spoke to her was the day before Thanksgiving.

"We are concerned for her welfare and her safety. Thus far nothing has been found," said Lt. Dave Gearhart of the Lynchburg Police Department.
