HARRISONBURG--- The Lottery Powerball is currently at $400 million. Because of that, lottery fever is hitting the Valley with customers buying tickets throughout the day hoping to cash in.

In Harrisonburg, last minute customers bought a ticket, or several, to try their luck at the powerball.
The clerk we talked to said that the spike in sales is pretty simple to explain. He said, "when the prize go up, the sales go up." One customer said, "Typically everybody I know plays when it's high."

The lottery numbers were selected at 11:12pm on Wednesday.
