ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- Some schools in The Valley were out of school again on Friday because of weather. Some of the roads seemed to be cleared off, but some of the walkways weren't. It was too dangerous for kids to wait at the bus stops.
Rockingham County Schools had a third day off in a row on Friday. Some kids were happy to have the time off but some parents didn't understand why.
Some areas in Elkton and other towns in the south ends of the district still had snow on the sidewalks and have too narrow of roads.
Assistant Superintendent of Rockingham County Schools, Dr. Doug Alderfer said they hoped to have school on Friday but will have to wait until Monday.
"Some of the hour requirements, we need to keep kids on the same schedule. We do have a minimum number of hours that we are required to have. It's just a better situation to have all the schools in the same situation together," said Alderfer.
The Rockingham County schools have talked about having snow routes for certain buses but there would be some draw backs to that plan. Alderfer believes that having schools in different parts of the county on different schedules would cause some major issues through out the district.
