ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- After nearly three decades, Rockingham county is making some major revisions to the county zoning ordinance.

Rockingham County Administrator Diana Shultz says the current ordinance is outdated and it needs to be completely rewritten to keep up with the times.

As apart of the modernizing of the ordinance, the county will be making the ordinance more accessible online. The changes to the ordinance could be the answer for farmers in the area.

"Are there more small businesses or agriculturally related businesses that we could add to the ordinance to open it up that the farmers would be able to a few more things on their property than they are at this time?" said Diana Stultz, who is the Rockingham County Administrator.

Changes to the ordinance will be presented before the Board of Supervisors on September 25.

County residents are encouraged to attend to hear about the changes.
