DEERFIELD, Va -- Keri Jones, the program Coordinator with the Staunton, Augusta County and Waynesboro Coalition, or SAW Coalition, said she feels the educational meetings about the drug have really been causing hype.
Communities are not only asking questions, they are scheduling smaller private meetings about the issue.
She does eventually see bath salts becoming part of the coalition's normal efforts.
“The numbers are dropping in terms of the people who are using bath salts,” said Jones. “Because there are more people knowledgeable about it. So, they're keeping an eye on their kids, on their neighbors, on local businesses.”
Jones said that she has started to incorporate information from Operation Jam into the meetings.
Thursday night's meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Deerfield Ruritan Community Center. Two more meetings are planned for these upcoming weeks.
