Staunton, Va. (WHSV) The need for toys in the valley is still great. We are still behind in the number of toys for Harrisonburg's Salvation Army. They do not have enough so that each child who signed up for one can receive a toy.

Major Mary Kay Hearne with the Salvation Army in Staunton said right now she is still getting calls from families looking for toys.

She said one woman became very emotional when she received gifts for her four children.

"She was a recipient of a bike that came from toy convoy. She was just amazed. She was in tears this afternoon when she picked it up. Just they are very blessed, very pleased. It makes such a difference in what they give for Christmas," said Hearne.

In order to help Harrisonburg's Salvation Army gather more toys, we have extended the deadline for dropping off toys.

Saturday we are at the Harrisonburg Honda, starting at noon. Monday we are at Kmart in Harrisonburg.
