PENN LAIRD--- Spotswood High School Girls Basketball Team gets a warm welcome returning from their second State Championship.
"We were lucky enough to go down and win our second state championship, so back to back, and it's very important to us because I feel like we're leaving footsteps for the kids who come behind us. I don't know if you can come out on a more positive note than back to back state championships. We had two or three fan buses come down, we sold out of 500 tickets in two days here. I think we put on a heck of a show on both teams, so both schools have a lot to be proud of," said Head Coach Chris Dodson.
"It's huge footprints that no other Seniors have left before us. We beat Broadway 56 to 49 for our back-to-back state championship," said Tayler Dodson, a Spotswood High Girls Basketball Senior.
"We're always going to be remembered as having back-to-back state championships. We know each other so well, we know everything about each other's games, so that's a strong point for us," said Senior Rachel Lindsay.
"I think we definitely left a legacy," said Nikki Lam, a Senior.
"This group's been together a long time, they've worked hard, they deserve it. Coach Dodson, DJ, they've worked these girls for a long time. Without those guys, these girls wouldn't be doing this," said Eric Lam, Nikki Lam's father.
"We're all really excited, and it's something that not a lot of people get a chance to do," said Tayler.
