Staff from Senator Mark Warner's Roanoke office will be in Harrisonburg on Aug. 21 to talk to people who may need help with agencies like the IRS, the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Social Security Administration.
This is part of remote office hours called 'Warner on Your Corner' held across the state.
The office hours are held in Harrisonburg on the third Tuesday of every other month in the City Council Chambers.
Warner's outreach representative, Drew Densmore, will be at the office to pass along concerns directly to Warner.
Densmore said turnaround for a response is normally within a couple of weeks.
"If somebody is concerned about levels of funding - maybe at their local schools or for particular projects that are federally funded - often times they'll come in and let us know why it's important for them and why it's important for our area, and how potential cuts or changes in programs could affect them, and they want the senator to know that," said Densmore.
Public office hours are held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Private appointments are also available between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Anyone who would like to arrange a private appointment can call the Roanoke office at 540-857-2676.
