HARRISONBURG, Va. -- This week marks the start of plenty of good food deals at downtown restaurants at special prices.
It's the start of taste of downtown and it's all about showcasing the diverse culinary culture of harrisonburg for the fifth year in a row.
Whether you're looking for a breakfast spot or a sweet treat, the list of businesses participating in taste of downtown is pretty exhaustive.
The promotions manager with Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance said the breakfast category is brand new.
The Artful Dodger's owner Thom Metroka said they're featuring breakfast because the restaurant is a popular brunch spot on weekends.
They're featuring a breakfast entree, like the Morning Glory plate, with a non-alcoholic beverage.
You also have the option of ordering alcohol for an additional charge.
Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance members said it's a way to focus on locally owned businesses and it gives people a chance to try out their favorite restaurant in a new way.
Metroka said it's also a way for restaurants to bring in new customers.
"I think Taste of Downtown is a wonderful thing that communities do to bring people down that don't necessarily get a chance to come downtown and try all the different restaurants and see what each one has to offer."
Other restaurants on that list include Clementine and the New Leaf Pastry Kitchen.
